Google's Free Software Downloads
Google has been busy creating a number of cool software products that they are giving away for free.
You can download them the hard way, by going to Google's site, navigating to find the software and downloading them individually — and then installing them individually.
Or, you can do it the easy way — with Google Pack...
The Google Pack includes Google Earth (the cool 3D Earth browser that uses satellite images and let's you zoom from space to street level), Google Picasa photo organizer, Google Pack Screensaver (which uses your own photos for collages and full-screen images), Google Desktop (find everything faster) and the Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer (want an effective popup stopper - here it is, and a lot more). You can choose which programs you want to install, too.
The Picasa photo organization package will surprise you with its unique interface and its amazing power. With Picasa, you can easily edit photos with basic fixes, as well as adding any of 12 lighting and color effects. You can organize your photos, write captions on them, and even order prints.
Here's a great reason to get Firefox — the Google Toolbar. I use and recommend Firefox for web surfing.
Sign Up for Google's Advertising Systems
Adwords is Google's pay-per-click advertising program for advertisers. Advertise your products or sites in Google's search results or on the many sites displaying Google ads based on their site's content. It's not quite free — but it's only $5.00 to activate your account.
Adsense is the web site publisher's side of Google's pay-per-click advertising program called Adwords. Show Google's text ads on your web site and make money from every ad click. (Of course, you can't click your own and asking others to click is also prohibited, too).
